Everything you need to know about the Pin Trading App. Answers to our most common questions below!

What is the Pin Trading App and how does it work?

The Pin Trading App is your all-in-one tool for identifying, valuing, and organizing your pin collection. Simply scan any pin using your phone's camera and our app will match it against our database of over 100,000 pins. You'll instantly get details like the pin's name, series, origin, edition, release date, and current market value. From there, you can save it to your collection, mark it as a trader, or add it to your wishlist.

How do I scan and identify a pin?

Open the app, tap the scan button, and point your camera at the pin. Within seconds, you'll have a full breakdown of what the pin is and what it's worth!

Is the app free to use?

You can download the Pin Trading app and try your first 20 scans completely free so you can see the magic for yourself. ✨ Even on the free version, you can still add pins to your collection, create your ISO list, and track your trader pins while you get started. Once you’ve used your 20 free scans, you can upgrade to unlimited scanning and full access to all features with either $14.99/month or $39.99/annually! The annual plan saves over 70%, and both plans can be canceled anytime!

What is included as a Passholder?

As a Passholder (subscriber), you get unlimited pin scans, full access to our entire database of over 100,000 pins, real-time eBay pricing and market values, the ability to create and manage unlimited collection boards, full wishlist and trader list functionality, and priority support. Everything the app has to offer is unlocked and at your fingertips.

How are pin values determined?

Each pin's estimated value is based on the last three sales on eBay for that specific pin. This gives you a real world estimate of what your pin is currently worth, but keep in mind it should be used as a guide rather than an exact price. We also display a graph of the most recent sales so you can see pricing trends over time. Both the estimated value and the sales graph are updated daily to make sure you're always looking at the latest data!

What if my pin isn't recognized when I scan it?

Our growing database covers a massive range of pins, but if yours isn't recognized, we want to know about it. Submit it for review and our team will work to add it. Your submission doesn't just help us, it helps every collector who scans that pin after you. The more our community contributes, the more complete and valuable the app becomes for everyone!

What's the difference between a Wishlist/ISO pin, a Trader pin, and a Collection pin?

These are three ways to categorize your pins. A Wishlist/ISO (In Search Of) pin is one you're searching for. A Trader pin is one you're willing to trade. A Collection pin is one you own and want to keep. You can move any pin between categories at any time and organize them across multiple boards to keep your collection exactly how you want it.

How often is the pin database updated?

Our pin database is updated every single day. We’re constantly adding new pins, updating values, and refining scan accuracy to make sure you always have the most current information at your fingertips. Between daily updates and community submissions, the database just keeps getting better.

When will the Pin Trading App be available on Android?

We’re currently available on iOS and we’re working hard to bring the Pin Trading App to the Google Play Store. Stay tuned to our social media for updates on the Android release. We want every pin collector to have access, and we’re making it happen as fast as we can.

Can I share my account with someone else?

Right now, the Pin Trading App is device-based, meaning your collection and subscription are tied to the device you’re using. We’re working hard on a major update that will introduce profiles and logins, which will allow you to access your account across multiple devices and make sharing much easier. Stay tuned for updates on this!

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time directly through your device. On iPhone, go to Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > Pin Trading App, and from there you can change your plan or cancel. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you’ll still have access until then. We don’t lock you into anything, and there are no cancellation fees.
